Canon presented a matrix for cameras with a resolution of 120 megapixels
The Japanese company Canon introduced the CMOS-matrix standard for digital cameras with APS-H record resolution, according to an official press release. Its physical dimensions are 29.2 by 20.2 millimeters.
For assurance of the company, this matrix has a record resolution for its size. Rate new matrix Canon is about 120 megapixels, or 13280 on 9184 pixels. For comparison, the resolution of the previous "flagship" CMOS-matrix Canon of this size was 16.1 megapixels.

The new matrix will shoot at up to 9.5 frames per second. Also, this matrix can support video recording HD (1080p).

At the same time the company has not officially announced the cameras, which will apply this matrix. Also unknown approximate cost of such devices and then, when they appear on the market.

It should be noted that in 2007, Canon announced the development of APS-H matrix with a resolution of 50 megapixels, but the sale of devices based on it have not been received.
