In Bushehr on August 21 was made physical start of the first Iranian nuclear power plant. According to AFP, the station hosted a ceremony of delivery of fuel assemblies in the first unit. In the next 10 days in the unit will download the 163 build, which is equivalent to 80 tons of uranium.
The ceremony was attended by head of the Russian State Corporation Rosatom , Sergei Kiriyenko and Iranian Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi. It is planned that the end of 2010 will launch nuclear energy - the company will be displayed at full capacity.

Construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant began in mid-1970's. In 1995, an agreement was reached on the completion of the project with the help of Russian specialists. Then it was planned that power station will launch in 1999, but the timing of construction and testing plant repeatedly extended for various reasons.

Nuclear fuel for Bushehr nuclear power plant supplies the Russian side. The first batch of fuel was brought to Iran back in 2007. All nuclear fuel is under the supervision of specialists from the IAEA. In accordance with the concluded agreement, once finalized will send the fuel back to Russia.

Iran's nuclear program for many years, causing concern among international organizations: From Tehran's demand to provide proof of its peaceful nature and tolerance of IAEA inspectors to all nuclear facilities. The greatest concern associated with uranium enrichment plant: one such plant is now operational at Natanz, the second plant is built near the city of Qom. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has promised soon to build the country has 10 such plants.
