Some of the tapes submitted by users of video sharing, includes a number of Indian films and films with Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Most of these films were released before the 90-ies.
Starting the service was made possible thanks to agreements between Google, which owns video sharing, and a number of major film studios, including Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., Sony Pictures and MGM. 165 films from this collection (approximately 40 per cent) were awarded to British service Blinkbox. It is assumed that the owners of the rights to movies will be able to earn from advertising, which will be accompanied by ads.
In January 2010, YouTube was tested movie rental service. During the ten days of your works have earned on the service a little over 10 thousand dollars, then stop testing. Note that to show five films were selected from the Festival program Sundance.
