The former coach of French football team led by an English club
Former head coach of Liverpool and the French football team led by Gerard Houllier Birmingham football club Aston Villa. This writes the British edition of The Daily Mail. 63-year-old Houllier will be officially presented as new coach the team on Sept. 9, 2010.
Houllier, who has served as technical director of the French team intends to talk with the leadership of the French Football Federation (FFF), before leaving his post and leave the English club.

It is unclear who will help Houllier at Aston Villa. Perhaps the Frenchman's assistant Kevin MacDonald will be appointed as an acting coach the team after the resignation of Martin O'Neill.

O'Neill resigned on Aug. 9, a few days before sezona-2010/11. According to British media, the reason for leaving the coach have differences with the leadership of the club over the transfer policy.

In the three league games starting sezona-2010/11 England Aston Villa scored two victories and suffered one defeat. Birmingham club beat West Ham (3:0) and Everton (1:0) and lost to Newcastle United (0:6).
