Robot Nao
The team of European researchers presented a robot Nao, able to express emotions, writes The Guardian. Scientists say they have tried to simulate the first years of life, and Nao corresponds to the level of emotional development year-old baby.
Nao expresses his emotions postures and gestures, almost without words, although able to reproduce sound recordings. Creators of robot also not provided mimicry - a cylindrical head Nao has two fixed holes for eyes and one for the mouth.

In the demo on the website of the newspaper Nao shows happiness, sadness, fear and other emotions. Scientists say that the robot is able to independently create and show new types of feelings. Built-in cameras allow Nao react to people and touch. So, in response to the praise he can show that he was happy. Moreover, Nao can change some attitudes, and, depending on this, their reaction to external stimuli.

In the future, according to developers Nao, robots will become personal assistants to people. To succeed they need the possibility of emotional interaction with the hosts. It is believed that such robots, in particular, useful as companions to play with autistic children.
