| Serena Williams withdrew from the US Open |
The reason for the rejection of the competition has been injured right leg, received in July of tennis: she had cut his foot with glass from broken glass in a Munich restaurant. Incision was serious, and 28-year-old Serena Williams underwent surgery. Doctors have recommended athlete not to go on the court until they are cured. U.S. Open Tennis starts on August 30.
Earlier there were reports of likelihood of failure Williams from US Open. In addition, because of cuts she missed tournaments in Montreal, Istanbul, and Cincinnati.
In the autumn with Serena Williams are scheduled to participate in the Federation Cup final. She is a member of Team USA along with her sister Venus, and tenisistkami Uden Melanie (Melanie Oudin), Bettany Matek Sands (Bethanie Mattek-Sands) and Lizel Huber (Liezel Huber). Fed Cup finals will be held in November in San Diego.
